Sydney's First Haircut
Some might say it was long overdue, but Sydney finally succumbed to her first haircut today. There are two main reasons for waiting until 18 months for this rite of passage to take place.

Number 1: Who knew the "bangs or no bangs" dilemma begins this early in life? I was trying to decide this for Sydney, but finally let her decide. (No barrettes for you? Okay, you must want bangs.)

Number 2: I dreaded having to be the one to hold the wiggling screamer while someone approached her with a sharp object.

But alas, we both survived. And her hair looks better, even if the bangs are a little crooked thanks to said wiggling and screaming. Something tells me her dad will still call her the "crazy hair lady."

You know I am appalled and shocked.

Shocked and appalled.

Appalled, aringoed, ageorged, and ajohned.

That is one cute kid, haircut and all, and I am the only one who commented!?!?

What's wrong with you people?

Dave, you are a true friend. You are welcome to come visit us anytime you want.

Thanks for noticing how cute our daughter is. Hopefully she will still like being called cute when she's a teenager/adult. Something tells me she's going to hold on to that title, especially since she'll be lucky to hit 5 feet!

You know you and Danielle could potentially produce something this cute. That reminds me, did you get the starter kid (dog) yet? If so please send a picture so I can judge his/her/it's cuteness.

Judging from the frequency you check and add comments to our blog and the frequency of the "others," it's a safe bet that you will be winning more prizes in the future. Especially when you suck up to us, sucking up is always helpful in winning prizes...especially for those nasty ties!

cute!
I thought you'd go for the Mr. T mohawk look but that might not go over too well in Japan.

I think Sydney's daddy is just jealous that Sydney has hair to cut.

Curtis, I think you're just bitter because you never developed facial hair!

Thanks for posting a comment, your bitterly sarcastic comments are always welcome and expected!

I was thinking the same thing as Curtis. But Renee wouldn't let me write it. And coincidentally I too could never grow a beard, although I'm not sure that's a bad thing.

Well I got you all beat! I haven't shaved since, oh, this morning... and I already have a beard.

Does that make me manly?

Perhaps just beastly.

And just because B is a giant in Japan doesn't mean we can just shift our mocking comments from height to hair.

Lets not forget, he is bald AND short. (don't worry, I'll continue to look out for you B)

Thank goodness the kid is cute.

Well its nice to see some things never change.

In my defense (now that you have put me on the defensive on what started out as a light-hearted blog about Sydney's first haircut) you can clearly determine from the pictures on this blog that:

#1 I am NOT bald
#2 I am NOT a giant in Japan
#3 If you 3 were to actually visit us in Japan Ezra would a baby-faced giant, Dave would be a hairy beastly giant, and Curtis....well....actually Curtis would fit in pretty well! Although the way Curtis dresses he could easily be confused with a Japanese mobster.

Now, if Diane would be so kind as to post another entry we can move on to new and more interesting topics to discuss.....at least I think we can!

baby-faced? I'll have you know I haven't been carded in weeks. Kids give you grey hair, I now have lots of it. Helps offset the baby-face. And remember, I'm not the one who called you bald or short. But if it makes you feel better you can make fun of me. Just see if I ever give you a ride in my sweet mini-van! It has remote controlled side doors. Who's laughing now? We can change topics. How are your parents? We're taking a road trip, thought I'd stop by and say hi if we get time. Send me their number.

Dude, I'm a hairy beastly giant just about anywhere.

Lets not localize it to Japan.

It belittles my hairy beastly giantness.

I'm was trying to come up with something witty around the whole Curtis fitting right in comment...but other than the fact that he is already almost a mobster here with his somewhat shady loan sharking...I fear you are correct. And that scares me, though not sure why. I think Curtis just generally scares me.

Oh and Ezra, we kid because we love, so consider yourself well loved, Junior (sorry, its the baby face).
